... is a citizen-led network with a vision of healthy food for all people in Chilliwack.

We, and our partners, are working to achieve this vision by building community around food, providing a public forum for meaningful dialogue about food issues, promoting awareness and education about food security issues significant to the community, and celebrating local, seasonal food and our diverse food culture. Finally, we, and our partners, are looking to develop projects that will help the community access healthy food and secure a future for tomorrow’s food.

Food Matters Chilliwack is a grassroots food security round table that began in 2010 as a practicum project for UFV Social Work students in partnership with the local Fraser Health Healthy Living/Healthy Community Specialist.  Since then, a number of people from the community have come together because they are passionate about the vision and issues that Food Matters Chilliwack addresses.
